Stickers around town, with qr-code (and html address) leading to randomly played sound files.
4 x ~ 3 min long tracks.
I asked myself: What if you replaced the actual soundscape of your location to something completely different? Would you see the world differently as well? Portable Soundscapes attempts to answer these questions. The four tracks create different soundscapes from quite natural to very abstract. The tracks are intended to be listened via headphones on your mobile phone, after spotting a sticker with a qr-code, thus the name ”portable”. The site accessed trough the code (or writing the html address) selects one of the tracks randomly and plays it once.
Portable Soundscapes began as course project for Time and Space Art course. The work was then accepted into OLOHUONE 306,4 km^2 Urban Art Festival’s program in June 2019. Some stickers are still around in Turku.
